Types of Electrical Connectors for Batteries

A collection of the different types of electrical connectors that might be relevant for robotics.

Batteries

JST
JST connector, typical for Lipo batteries.
XT

XT connector, typically denoted like "XT60" meaning that it should be used for transmitting 60 Amps.

Deans
Deans connectors.
EC3 / EC5
EC3 connectors.
EC5 connectors.

Plugs

Blade / Spade
Male and female blade connector.
A slightly different-looking female blade connector.
A male spade connector, which connects to the same female plug.
Bullet
Male and female bullet connector.
Banana
Male and female banana connector.
Coaxial
Example coaxial cable. There are many different types
Barrel Jack
The different combinations of barrel jack connectors.

High Voltage

Ring
Unisex ring connector. These are usually crimp-on.
How ring connectors are mounted to whatever they are connecting to.
Twist-On
Twist-on connector, such as you might see in your wall.
Bolted
Bolted connector, for transmitting high voltages.
Screw Terminal / Terminal Block

Screw terminal connectors, usually used for providing power to a board.
